Assessments provide baseline information about individuals and can provide various details about personality, leadership styles, interpersonal communication style, strengths, and stage of development. They also can provide new perspectives from which leaders can better understand behaviors, abilities, and potential issues with performance because assessments create a more comprehensive view of the individual.
All assessments offered to Imago clients are based upon the unique needs of the clients and are followed by debrief sessions. The process of debriefing can be as important as the assessment process itself. We believe that the insights that can be unearthed from the debriefing session can open an individual to a world unexplored and allow the individual to construct meaning about situations that, up to this point, had not been revealed or understood. Highlighting how the information can be used positively to enhance interpersonal tendencies and inclinations can be a valuable experience for many individuals.
In simplest terms, our DISC is an invaluable behavioral profiling system that teaches users how to identify— and use to their advantage— the predictable aspects of communication. Based on the research of Dr. William Moulton Marston, DISC is the most widely-used behavior profiling tool of its kind, supported by decades of research and continuous validation.
DISC teaches powerful behavioral profiling skills which can directly improve performance and increase productivity in a variety of settings and professional frameworks. It is through knowing your own behavioral style that one can interact more effectively with others. The assessment leads to insights about building teams, improving hiring & selection, and empowering management which can lead to a competitive advantage in today’s marketplace.
Motivators combines the research of Dr. Eduard Spranger and Gordon Allport into a single, in-depth diagnostic revealing the inherent motivations of each user. While we are all aware of our motivations to some degree, research shows that successful people share the common trait of exceptional self-awareness. Exceptional self-awareness means these individuals are better at recognizing opportunities that correlate with their inherent motivations, thereby increasing their likelihood for success.
The Imago Group offers a suite of Hogan assessments that lead to a greater understanding of self along with insights for future development. The suite includes the following:
Hogan Personality Inventory
The Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) describes normal, or bright-side personality – qualities that describe how we relate to others when we are at our best. The HPI was developed in the 1980s in the context of socio-analytic theory. Within this model, getting along with and getting ahead of others are seen as the dominant themes in social life. The HPI captures key behavioral tendencies relevant to these life themes and are based on the five-factor model of personality.
Hogan Development Survey
The Hogan Development Survey (HDS) describes the dark side of personality – qualities that emerge in times of increased strain and can disrupt relationships, damage reputations, and derail peoples’ chances of success. By assessing dark-side personality, you can recognize and mitigate performance risks before they become a problem. Introduced in 1997, the HDS is the only personality assessment that identifies critical blind spots that lead to career derailment.
Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory
The Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) describes personality from the inside – the core goals, values, drivers, and interests that determine what we desire and strive to attain. By assessing values, you can understand what motivates candidates to succeed, and in what type of position, job, and environment they will be the most productive.
The StrengthsFinders assessment was developed from Gallups’s 40-year study on human strengths which brings rigor and robustness to the assessment. The Strengths Finders assessment provides the individual with the five highest rated strengths out of 34 or the entire range of 34 which allows for integration into professional development. The results lead to discovering what individuals do best, provide insights into greatest talents and improvement in self-awareness and proven methods for improving performance.
Additionally, the results from the StrengthsFinder assessment can be leveraged to explore and maximize team capabilities, identify investment opportunities for leaders and managers, and provide guidance for coaching followers based upon their individual strengths.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment with more than 70 years of science-based, research-based insight, the MBTI assessment is a robust tool for self-awareness and improvement. It provides positive language for understanding and valuing individual differences. With practical insight that’s easy to understand and implement, the MBTI assessment helps individuals and organizations improve how they communicate, learn, and work.
The Imago Group offers a range of 360° assessments which are customized based upon the needs of the leader and organization. Our process includes gathering information from the leader, the leader’s supervisor or board of directors, peers, and direct reports. The insights from these individuals provide a range of benefits to both leaders and organizations by identifying both strengths and areas for development as well as the impact a leader has across the organization. They also provide direction for a leader for further alignment of organizational values and strategies.
